The Norwalk Area Disc Golf Association just proved once again that they’re all heart, with a huge contribution to the Hearts for Hunger food drive. More than a dozen members braved the wind and rain to take part in the 2018 Ice Bowl, raising nearly 100 canned items and $140 toward additional canned goods. This group plays a major role in the upkeep of our reservoir and their events have brought visitors to Norwalk from as far away as Canada and California. Hearts for Hunger

Gaymont Nursing Center and Firelands Local (formerly CLI) are teaming up with several other local businesses for a canned food drive and community art project. Hearts for Hunger is now collecting canned goods through February 12 in the name of community art and feeding those in need. Once all canned goods have been collected, students from the NHS art club will create “can bears” in downtown Norwalk. Those bears will be on display for a week, before being disassembled and taken to the Norwalk Area Food Bank.
